Yusuf Islahis lecture (summarised)

Assalamualaikum to all the brothers & sisters
Today we have come to a stage where we Muslims have become the talk of every media, gatherings and political issues. The media has introduced us extremely well. They have portrayed us as terrorists. We are responsible for the image that has been setup in people’s minds. We stopped following the Qur'an & sunnah due to which we are being degarded, insulted & looked upon as dirt last 400 yrs. We chose those rulers who gave prefernce to the world over our Deen. The situation right now is so devasted & confusing that we donot know who is right and who is wrong. We cannot diffrentiate between black & white. According to a hadith referred by Sahih Bukhari ; (its a long hadith & as I don’t know the exact words I shall keep it short for time being & will inshallah find it & post it sometime later) . The Prophet said, "I swear by the God in whose Hands Mohammad’s life is that This time will be the worst of the times when my Ummah wont be able to distinguish between right & wrong".
And this is exactly the situation that is transparent to our eyes right now. And we have to accept that we were the people.a handful of 313 people who had gained victory On the ground of Badr, & today we are in every corner, we have highly tech equipment, men, strength but what we lack is IMAAN. The pure Imaan was there in the Sahabas (Companions of our Beloved Prophet (P.b.u.h).
Secondly, due to the fact that we all have realised by now which is our downfall, we have started clearing ourselves in a negative practical way. We thought if we give freedom to our media, if we bring our women w/o hijab freely mingling with men, lots & lots of music people will get the concept that Muslims are modernized & their religion is flexible enough to allow them to fulfill their desire. We waste our major amount of time convincing people we are not terrorist. BUT Islam is not categorized like this. Our talk should be that we believe in One God, We will die one Day & We will answer our deeds on the Day of Judgment. Our goal & our talk should be the Day of Judgment. Mould your personality according to Islam the world itself will realize ur identity. We have the fear of everything today but we donot posses’ the fear of Day of Judgment.
In the end, I would like to request to encourage our younger generation to come forth in the field of Islam. This generation’s youth is quite bright & enthusiastic about acknowledging Islam than the previous generation. Especially young girls, who have not only gone ahead in scarves but in the field of Deen. I am proud to say that Inshallah I will see my youth growing up in Islam & portraying the Muslim Ummah as the most just, humble, helping, loving & forgiving Ummah.
