Is there a solution?

I don’t need salvation from prayer. I’ll die like her , he thought looking at the picture infront of him

Mr. Wasiq was anxiously waiting for his friend to arrive at his house. After all, his friend Mr. Hashim returned to Pakistan after nine long years. Being close relatives and having spent more than 25 years together they were excited to meet each other. And each of them knew, how equally were both of them struck with inner tribulation. Each of them had lost a blessing, the precious being who they wished were with them at this age. A talisman of their live, which was lost forever.

Gapping the bridge of wait, Hashim arrived. For hours they talked discursively. At 60 years of age, they had rife to share. Their children and their families and their own not so social lives.

It was Hashim who sounded more confident. He still had the obdurate tone in his voice. It was quite unambiguous that his health was better than Wasiq’s. Not because he was physically active at this age but he had a repose which Wasiq lacked. Hashim had heard from Wasiq’s children that their father was ostensibly not sensible now. "He sits in a corner and just stares at her picture" they had said. Hashim knew living a life without her was indeed a challenge for him. Afterall, he was suffering from the same depression. Hashim was livid that his children are now beginning to ignore their father. But he was now beginning to realize his friend’s mental health through their conversation.

It was the Azaan Of Maghrib that got hiatus in their conversation. Hashim had expected his friend to join him. His friend had silently left the room, leaving Hashim to go for prayer alone. Hashim was aware that Wasiq was not regular with prayers since youth. But death is an eye-opener , he wondered why Wasiq was still not cautious at this age. On his return, he asked him about the prayer. Wasiq had a stupid answer. He said it was no use for it. It cannot bring back what he had lost.

“ You are not the only one who have lost his wife. I am alone without my wife too!” Hashim replied now loosing his temper. He explained to Wasiq how crucial now life is and death is unpredictable. He even tried to console him reminding him to pray for his wife to show he loved her. But Wasiq’s pastiche of excuses confirmed Hashim’s view.
He is also struck by old age, HE HAS GONE IDOITS

Hashim departed leaving Wasiq upset. Hashim knew that old age had struck him too. He was fighting his short-temper and sour language. It was his harsh attitude that had kept his relatives and even his own children distant from him.
Hashim was upset for spoiling his visit that could have been a souvenir. But for time being the frustration was enough. He couldn’t get to bring his friend to the Right Path.

He missed his wife the most that moment. I wish to be with you in Paradise. If I am allowed too… Hashim thought closing his eyes, feeling his wife’s presence beside him
